I saw this model at the Eureka Booth at Historicon 2012 and being a retired Army helicopter pilot, I had to buy one. In this case, I bought the Rhodesian G-Car type and within hours I was purchasing the 28mm Rhodesians and ZANLA troops to go with it. In less than a week after returning from the Convention I ordered a K-Car and additional troops. Needless to say I'm hooked. Now, for the Alouette 3 model itself.....
The model kit comes with resin, metal and plastic pieces and a nice, color set of assembly instructions. A quick review of the instructions appeared that though they are very basic, they appear to give reasonable instructions on both assembling and painting the Alouette. The crew, weapons and seated Rhodesian Light Infantry for the G Car are in white metal and are the usual, beautifully sculpted Eureka figures found throughout this range. The model also comes with a clear plastic canopy and this is the only piece I'm less than thrilled with. It appears to be made of the same sort of plastic as is found making a typical, clear blister pack. The plastic canopy I have did not appear to "cast" correctly and the 'windows' look very cheap. The plastic appears to have flowed unevenly giving a "watery effect" throughout. Its not a game stopper for me from buying more, but the canopy is not up to the quality of the rest of the model and should be redone.
Overall, I highly recommend that anyone getting into the Rhodesian Bush Wars tin this scale that you should get one or a few of these nice models.
