1861 South Australia – A French Invasion
After a catastrophic diplomatic breakdown between Britain and France, war has been declared and the two nations have commenced raiding each other’s colonies to disrupt trade and plunder treasuries. Thus, one fateful morning several French warships from New Caledonia appeared off the Adelaide coast and landed a raiding force without opposition. This was what the South Australian Volunteer Military Force had been preparing for since 1859! After brushing aside the several Volunteer companies who managed to cross their path, the French have entered the city itself. One last Australian outpost remains behind the walls of Government House…
