Putting a camel in a French Foreign Legion uniform is not only ridiculous but also, I would think, from a creative point of view, very hard.
I can only say the result is convincing. For such an improbable creature as this uniformed camel (even if they cheated, it is a dromedary) this is the biggest compliment I can think of.
Technically it's all very well. Look at the details on the rifle, the clothing, etc..
I even think it's wearing an authentic Victorian-age Foreign Legion uniform and accessoires (but I'm not an expert on this)
Artistically it's even better. These humpbacks in their poses look downright sinister.
Waddling killing machines.. Their facial expression not filled with blind hate, but worse,
complete .. ignorance. No trace of human (ok they're not) emotions to appeal to when pleading for mercy.
The only thing I don't like are the vulnerable bayonets which end up bended all of the time and will for sure break off one day.
It's clear, I'm impressed with these 'chameaux'. Great sculpturing, great fantasy.
