New American War of Independence Range in 18mm

Introducing Our New American War of Independence Range in 18mm

We're thrilled to announce the launch of our latest addition to Eureka Miniatures: an American War of Independence range in 18mm, masterfully sculpted by Alan Marsh with a little help from Kosta Heristanidis. This exciting new collection represents our ongoing mission to chronicle the evolution of warfare from the early 17th century through to the dawn of the 20th century, all in one of our most beloved scales: 18mm.

The American War of Independence was a conflict that changed the world, introducing new concepts of warfare, citizen-soldiers, and national identity. Our 18mm range allows you to recreate the battles that forged a nation and reshaped the global balance of power.

The 18mm scale holds a special place in our hearts. We think this scale offers the perfect balance between detail and playability, allowing wargamers to field substantial armies while maintaining the character and personality that makes each figure unique.

Continental Army Forces

The American forces in our initial release showcase the diverse nature of the Continental Army, from the regulation uniformed troops to the hardy frontier fighters:

Regular Continental Infantry - Available in formal military dress, these troops represent the backbone of Washington's army as it evolved from a collection of colonial militias into a professional fighting force.

Hunting Shirt Troops - These figures capture the distinctly American innovation of the hunting shirt uniform, practical garments that became synonymous with Continental forces and offered both comfort and intimidation factor against European opponents.

Campaign Dress Units - Representing troops in the field, these figures show the reality of extended campaigning with practical, worn uniforms adapted to the rigours of warfare in the American wilderness.

Militia Forces - The citizen-soldiers who formed the heart of American resistance, or armed subject displaying their crown loyalty. These figures represent the farmers, merchants, and craftsmen who took up arms for independence, or to suppress an armed rebellion in the name of the King.

Riflemen - Specialised skirmishers armed with the deadly accurate American long rifle, these frontier fighters brought a new dimension to 18th-century warfare.

His Majesty's Forces

The British forces are equally well-represented with multiple uniform variations that reflect the adaptations made for fighting in North America:

Tricorne Infantry - The classic British soldier in traditional headgear, representing the professional army that was the backbone of British military power.

Slouch Hat Troops - Adapted for the American climate and terrain, these figures show how British forces modified their appearance for colonial warfare.

Saratoga Cap Infantry - Featuring the distinctive leather cap that became associated with British forces in the later war period.

Grenadiers - The elite heavy infantry of British regiments, these imposing figures capture the might of Britain's finest troops.

Light Infantry - The British answer to American skirmishing tactics, these specialised troops were trained for the fluid, fast-moving combat that characterised much of the American conflict.

More to Come

This initial release is just the beginning. Wave two is already in development and will include:

• Dragoons for both Continental and British forces
• Artillery pieces and crews
• Mounted colonels and generals
• Aide-de-camps and staff officers

These additions will provide the command structure and mobile elements necessary for recreating the grand battles and campaigns of the American Revolution.

Welcome to our Revolution in 18mm scale.
