Historical Context
The Zagros Highlanders - Gutians and Lullubi tribes who were "close neighbours, hardly to be distinguished" - defended their mountain strongholds against Akkadian invasion before turning the tables to conquer the lowlands themselves.

When Akkadian forces invaded the Zagros mountains, these highland tribes assembled a confederation to resist. Though initially defeated, the Lullubi rallied to attack Akkadia, and ultimately the Gutians swept down to establish their own dynasty over what is now modern Iraq.

Alan Marsh's sculpting captures exceptional character in 15mm scale, bringing these ancient warriors to life with dynamic poses and authentic detail.
